Mill Description

The Moncure particleboard mill has a multi-opening press with platen size of 9’ x 24’ and an annual production capacity of 150 million square feet ¾ inch basis. In mid-2006, ATC Panels installed and began production of laminate panels on a state-of-the-art Wemhoener 5’ x 18’ press, with embossed, in-register capabilities.  In late 2006, a Siempelkamp 5’ x 18’ press was relocated to Moncure from the Biscoe, NC facility, transforming the Moncure mill into a high-output melamine laminating center.

Products

Moncure particleboard offers a pine formulation that provides a consistent, quality surface, ideal for use in a wide variety of commercial, institutional and residential applications. In addition, it is manufactured with a flaked core resulting in a lower density and a 10-20% weight reduction over traditional particleboard, reducing logistics costs and providing longer tool life.

Features and Benefits

• Can be finished with paints, high- and low-pressure laminates, wood veneers, vinyls, thin overlays, and plastic films.

• Panel sizes: 4’ wide x 6’, 8’, 9’, 12’ long and 5’ wide x 6’, 8’, 9’, 12’ long; oversize widths and lengths

• Thickness range: 1/2” to 1-1/8”

• Laminated panel sizes: 4’ wide x 6’, 8’, 9’ long and 5’ wide x 6’, 8’, 9’ long

• Thickness range: ¼” to 1-1/8” (particleboard and MDF)
